Freeport V.F.D. "Official Home of the Dual Mack Attack!" Freeport V.F.D. is a 100% volunteer department which receives some staffing assistance from Freeport EMS career staff. It provides services to the Boro as well as a 4 county area (Armstrong, Allegheny, Westmoreland, and Butler Counties.) The services Freeport provide include, fire prevention, fire suppression, rope rescue, river rescue, vehicle rescue, pumping details, pre-planning, traffic control and support to the E.M.S. division. Freeport prides itself by providing the residence a dual engine response to all alarms as well as having it own fully equipped dive team with 2 rescue boats. Freeport also has its own fire police which respond to incidents to help with traffic control.
